Sioux City bar feeds a crowd with 39-ft sub

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -

Some people work up quite a big appetite for the big games.

That's why at the Red Room Lounge in Sioux City, they've figured the best way to solve that problem; a big submarine sandwich, big enough to fit around the entire bar.

This is the second year the lounge has done this, however some patrons are still surprised to see it.

"We have a 39 1/2 foot sub. They're pretty shocked, they like it, they think it's pretty cool," Rochelle Knowles said.

Parts of the sandwich were cut up and offered for free to patrons.  It took the kitchen about 4 hours to put the Super Bowl Super Sub together.
