Girl Scout troop 312 learned about millipedes and other bugs.
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -
Sioux City Girl Scouts troop 312, stopped by Briar Cliff University to learn more about bugs!
The girl's got "up close and personal" with tarantulas, millipedes, and hissing cock-roaches. They even got to see a preserved horse-shoe crab.
The evening sparked lots of questions about the creepy, crawly creatures.
"To understand some diversity, I want them to appreciate these things, I want them to understand that if something is really scary and unknown that it's not necessarily dangerous but it's something they'll learn about these things," said Dr. Ted Wilson, Associate Professor of Biology at Briar Cliff University.
Dr. Wilson goes to schools, and libraries, to teach people of all ages about bugs.
