It's National Pancake Day!
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -
If you love pancakes, Tuesday was the perfect day to have a craving for them, while raising money for a good cause.
As part of National Pancake Day, I-HOPs across the country teamed up with the Children's Miracle Network and offered restaurant guests a free short stack of pancakes.
Guests were asked to leave a donation behind a donation, which goes entirely to CMN. In Sioux City, the restaurant has more than 800 pounds of pancake batter ready to go for the event.
It's the sixth year for the partnership, and one that the chain hopes to stay with.
"Personally, I feel there's a great cause for this. My kids have been affected by this. They've been in St. Luke's intensive care and now they're 14 years old, grown kids and personally it's something that I want to be a part of," said Michael Davis, general manager of Sioux City's IHOP.
Sioux City's IHOP served more than 900 pancakes in its first three hours of operation Tuesday, receiving more than $800 in donations.
You can get your free short stack until 10 p.m. Tuesday.
