NEAR SALIX, Iowa (KTIV) -
Woodbury County was awarded a multi-million dollar grant to help with CF's expansion.
The grant, worth three-million-dollars, will be used to build a road and new turn lanes at Port Neal and 260th Street. The road work's total price tag is four-point-four million dollars.
Construction on the road won't start until July or August. Officials said they hope to have it finished by November because it's key to the expansion project.
"This road is essential for them to be able to get materials, concrete, steel, equipment, and staff in to actually build the CF industries plant," said County Roads Supervisor Mark Nahra.
The expansion at CF is expected to be finished in 2016.
