Northern Natural Gas is holding public meetings on a new pipeline it plans to build. Scott has asked the public works department for a financial report on the city's five pools. He says he'd like to get some of the underperforming pools off the payroll. He says they could be replaced by new aquatic centers like the one in Riverside.
The apples are ready. The Siouxland Humane Society's biggest annual fundraiser is underway. Volunteers are making 12,000 double-chocolate caramel apples. They're all hand-made and cost $15 apiece. Proceeds help pay for food and medical expenses for animals at the shelter.
