DYERSVILLE, Iowa (CNN) -
Actor Matthew Perry has become an investor in the company that has purchased the site in Dyersville, Iowa.
The company has big plans.
It's leaving the movie site alone, but will build two dozen baseball fields nearby as part of an attraction called the All-Star Ballpark Heaven.
They'll be used for youth teams for practice and games.
Perry said in a statement that Field of Dreams has always been one of his favorite movies.
And he's looking forward to working with another investor, Hall of Fame third baseman Wade Boggs.
"I think the best is yet to come with Matthew, I think he is going to bring so much creative energy to the team and certainly a presence that we haven't had yet in the Hollywood scenes," Denise Stillman, the President and CEO, Go the Distance Baseball said.
Stillman says Perry is one of the top investors in the $38 million project.
