NEAR WAYNE, Neb. (KTIV/US92) -
A busy stretch of northeast Nebraska highway has reopened three hours after it was closed by a large tank leaking propane.
At about one o'clock Friday afternoon, officials closed the eight mile stretch of Highway 35 from the city of Wayne west to the junction with Highway 98 near Winside.
That's after 1,000 gallon propane tank rolled while it was being moved.
The impact caused the valve to stick open, and leak propane.
At the time, the tank was 90-percent full.
Officials had also issued an evacuation order for a one-mile radius around the scene.
But, shortly after 4:00 p.m., authorities took down the barricades, and re-opened the road.
No one was hurt in the incident.
