Plate of bagel and lox at the Green Gable Restaurant in Sioux City.
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -
A taste of the East Coast made its way to Sioux City Sunday, and we're not talking about the storm.
Lox and bagels is a popular sandwich found around delis in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.
However the Siouxland International Messianic Fellowship wanted to introduce National Bagel and Lox day to the Siouxland, so they threw a banquet at the Green Gables restaurant.
Free lox and bagels were given out for anyone who stopped by.
"We wanted people to find out about us, we wanted to introduce ourselves to the community, we want to let them know we are here as a resource for them," Rabbi Myron Slobin said.
This was the first year the fellowship put on the event. About a hundred people attended.
They plan to bring it back the event next year.
