A massive food fight took place in northern Italy Sunday. 

Hundreds of people pelted each other with oranges to re-enact an historic battle.  The orange fight celebrates the legend of a 12th century Miller's daughter who rejected the advances of the town's evil lord.  She cut off his head to free the town from his tyranny. 

Around 500 tons of oranges are shipped from Sicily to provide weapons for festival participants.
