Mater Dei Immaculate Conception School receives a SMART board.
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -
Several Siouxland schools are getting a digital boost thanks to a local grocer.
Monday, Hy-Vee presented SMART boards to four winning Siouxland schools from their SMART Points competition.
The contest gave points to students and their schools when buying Proctor and Gamble products at Hy-Vee during the promotional period.
Students with most points, like Lydia Harpenau of Immaculate Conception Center, were given an extra gift; a new 32-gig Ipad.
Immaculate Conception Principal Mary Fischer says her school can't wait to start using the new board.
"Right now it's going to be used in our music classroom, and we're gonna put wheels under it so it can be mobile, because we had quite a few teachers raising their hands that they wanted it first." said Mary Fischer.
Other Siouxland schools also received SMART boards through the Hy-Vee program including Homer Elementary in Nebraska, St. Paul Lutheran's and Mater Dei Nativity Center Middle Schools.
