SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -
This time next year, a new Walgreens will take shape on the corner of a busy Sioux City street.
Monday night, local leaders gave final approval to put a 15,000 square foot drug store on Hamilton and West 19th.
The developer has addressed what some council members called deal breakers in the design.
Traffic will not be allowed to cross 19th and no left turns will be allowed onto Hamilton.
City officials still worried about the new turn lane that will only hold two cars at a time, but project officials convinced them the space was adequate.
"It's not a use that has a strong rush of traffic, it's more of that trickle of traffic all day, so generally speaking you don't have a big rush of cars at any given time of the day," explained John Kohler, of Semper Development
The building will take 12-months to complete.
