Nebraska feed lot owner talks about the drought conditions

The Midwest's drought continues and that's a concern to Siouxland farmers. At CTC Farms near Howells, Nebraska, Ron Coufal grows corn to feed their cattle. In a good year, they sell the extra crop, but that didn't happen last year. In fact, they had to cut one-third of the crop for silage. Soul-full says it will take timely rains to raise a bumper crop this year and he's hoping mother nature will be on his side.

Siouxland Chamber lobbies for lower property taxes in Des Moines

Siouxland government and business leaders traveled to Des Moines to make a pitch for local projects. They met with lawmakers, Governor Terry Branstad and the heads of state departments at the statehouse on Wednesday . It's a trip the Chamber of Commerce sponsors every year to share the priorities and concerns of Siouxland.

Heineman names former state senator as Nebraska's new lieutenant governor

Nebraska has a new lieutenant governor. Former state Senator Lavon Heidemann of Elk Creek took the oath office during a public ceremony Wednesday at the Capitol.The 54-year-old Heidemann served as chairman of the Legislature's Appropriations Committee during his eight years in the Legislature.

Air Museum prepares for big fundraiser

The Mid America Museum of Transportation and Aviation is changing one of it's largest exhibits. The museum will restore it's FedEx BOEING 727 for about $100,000 to make it an interactive exhibit. Museum officials hope that the jet restoration can help jump-start the museum's business.
