Iowa Department on Aging announces search for centenarians

Iowa Department on Aging is reaching out to Iowans in search of individuals who are 100 years old or older. Any Iowan who was born in 1913 or before, qualifies for this recognition. 

Centenarians are invited as guests to the 2013 Centenarian Honors Celebration reception being held October 4, 2013 at the Science Center of Iowa located in Des Moines. Those who qualify will receive a certificate signed by the Governor.

According to the 2010 U.S. Census, there are 846 centenarians in Iowa and ranks third in the nation in the number of centenarians.
