Tourism numbers in the Iowa Great Lakes got a boost.
Statistics from Okoboji Tourism show numbers were up across the board.
Tourism-related expenditures totaled slightly more than $244 million, compared to 213 million in 2010.
Payroll from tourism-related jobs amounted to $29.8 million in 2011, compared to $27.83 million in 2010.
Tourism-related jobs for 2011 totaled 1,830, compared to 1,770 in 2010. Statewide tax receipts for 2011 brought in $12.2 million, also up from 2010. And local tax receipts increased in 2011 to $4.21 million from $3.91 million in 2010.
Stacey Rosemore of Okoboji Tourism expects the numbers for 2012 will be even stronger, given the hot summer.
She says those numbers won't be available until this coming fall.
