Sioux City Firefighters putting out house fire at 2619 10th Street.
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -
Sioux City fire investigators are trying to figure out what caused flames to break out at a rental home off of Lewis Boulevard around noon on Saturday.
Scott Grover was one of the neighbors called 9-1-1.
"The whole house was on fire, it was all burning by the time we seen it," Scott Grover said.
Authorities don't believe anyone was inside when the fire started at 26-19 10th street.
About 15 firefighters, and 3 engines from the Sioux City Fire Department responded to the call.
Sioux City Assistant Fire Chief Brad Robinson says large flames were coming out of the home when crews arrived to fight the fire.
"When we first arrived on the scene we had flames coming out the front window and front porch area, lapping up to the second floor window," Sioux City Asst. Fire Chief Brad Robinson said.
Authorities said most of the damage was confined to the front of the house.
It took firefighters about 30 minutes to put out the flames.
The family living in the home is being helped by the Siouxland American Red Cross.
