SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -
If you're a high school student, or a parent of one, it's not too early to think about shopping for prom dresses.
That's why the 2nd Annual "Raid-Her Closet" event returned to East High Saturday.
Organizers of the event said it was started to help raise money for the East High Choir Boosters Club, but also to help high school girls find the right prom dress for less than retail.
"Girls tend to buy fabulous dress and then they wear it one time and they don't want to wear it again and they put it back in their closet. So we're kind of raiding their closet, to bring them out here, they're on consignment, so the sellers could make a little money, the choir department makes a little money, girls get some great deals on some fabulous gowns so it's kind of a win-win," Nancy Jensen, East High School Choir Boosters President said.
The dresses ranged from $50 to $400.
Jensen also said she expects close to 200 people to come out to the event, and hopes to raise about $2,000.
