Heelan, West avoid upsets to advance to regional finals; Scores

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -

MaKayla Augustine scored 23 points and eclipsed the 1,000 point mark in her Crusader career, leading No. 1 Bishop Heelan past Le Mars 59-53 Saturday night.

With the win, Heelan advances to Tuesday's 4A Region 1 final against Spencer, which defeated Humboldt 60-46.

In 5A, ninth ranked Sioux City West held off their rival from Sioux City East, earning a come from behind 56-50 victory to advance to the Region 1 finals on Tuesday in Webster City, Iowa.

The Wolverines will play No. 2 Ankeny with a trip to state on the line.
