NORFOLK, Neb. (KTIV/US92) -
A replica of the casket in which Abraham Lincoln was buried in will be on display at a Norfolk funeral home both Monday and Tuesday.
Officials with Brockhaus Funeral Home say the six foot-six inch replica is one of four that tours to various funeral homes throughout the U.S.
A fifth replica is on permanent display at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum in Springfield, Illinois.
According to their website, the coffin was built based on an 1865 photo.
Monday and Tuesday, the casket will be on display at the Brockhaus-Howser-Filmer funeral home along highway 81.
A special program by a Lincoln expert is planned for 1 p.m.
The coffin will also be on display at other Brockhaus funeral homes in the area throughout the next two weeks.
It will also be displayed in Creighton, Nebraska on the 22nd and 23rd, plus in Tilden on February 28th.
Programs are also planned at these locations.
