A permanent garage sale opens at Midtown Family Community Center

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -

Families who need a little extra help these days are getting what they need out of a garage.

"The Garage" is the brainchild of Caleb Luckow.

It's a permanent garage sale store located inside the Midtown Family Community Center.

Luckow has gathered clothing donations mostly for kids and teens and everything is priced at a dollar.

"I moved here from Pella, Iowa, and after just a couple months, I saw a lot of youth poverty around the streets up here around town. And just thought we needed to help," Caleb Luckow said.

Money raised supports the ISU Extension youth gardening program.

It's open Mondays from 9 AM until 5 PM in the basement of the Midtown Family Community Center on the corner of 14th and Nebraska.

Luckow hopes to expand the hours if he gets enough volunteers.
