Snow blowers are going quickly as folks prepare for the winter storm.
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -
That winter snow storm is expected to hit much of Siouxland Thursday. So, that means shoppers are out, buying supplies to keep up, in the hours before it arrives.
People are loading up for both the inside and outside of their houses. One of the first things on everyone's list is salt.
That means stores like Bomgaars have their shelves fully stocked, for those last minute shoppers. So, just how are folks getting ready?
"A lot of people are loading up on sand tubes for the back of their vehicles," said Justin Claasen, Bomgaars assistant manager. "Lot of wood pellets we're selling for their houses, in case they get stuck at home."
Claasen says people are looking for power, like generators, and for snowblowers to plow through what winter could leave behind.
"People have been kicking some tires on some snow blowers, getting those ready," said Claasen.
Sometimes, you go back to the basics, like a shovel for your driveway. Claasen says since the news of the snowstorm broke for the first time last week, people have been loading up on snow shovels. They've already sold dozens of these, just in the last week.
