Posted:
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -

Here's the latest on the winter storm moving into Siouxland and projections for snow.

There is a Winter Weather Advisory for central & northern Siouxland from noon Thursday until noon Friday.

A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for southern & eastern Siouxland Thursday into early Friday.

Things start to change tonight in western Siouxland where the snow will develop the earliest.

Then that snow is going to spread slowly northeast throughout the day on Thursday.

In Sioux City, the snow may not develop until early Thursday afternoon.

Eastern Siouxland will see the snow even a little later than that. The snow then continues into Thursday night before winding down by Friday morning.

Accumulations will be highest in southern and western Siouxland where 6 to 10 inches could fall.

There will be an area of 4 to 8 inches through central Siouxland, including Sioux City.

The lower side of the 4 to 8 inches should fall in northern Siouxland.

The wind is going to be steady but not as gusty as you see with full-blown blizzards.
