NORFOLK, Neb. (KTIV/US92) -
Norfolk, Nebraska, may see some of the heaviest snow in the Siouxland area as a winter storm sweeps through.
In Norfolk, the snow started around 1:30pm Thursday afternoon with some flurries. But, it quickly escalated. Heavy snow was falling by 2:00pm. Visibility on the west edge of Norfolk was down to less than a mile in spots.
Road crews were out immediately clearing the way for folks, but roads have still been pretty slick in the area.
To the north, the City of Pierce, Nebraska, has declared a snow emergency effective at 6:00pm Thursday, while the City of Norfolk has yet to declare an official emergency.
