An Iowa DOT snowplow clears the Highway 75 bypass in Sioux City early Friday morning
It's a morning of digging out across Siouxland. That major winter storm sweeping across the United States dumped about ten inches of snow on Sioux City. Snowplow crews have been clearing the streets ever since the snow started falling Thursday afternoon. So far, so good with drivers. The Woodbury County Sheriff's Office reports only one weather-related accident.
The 56th Annual Siouxland Home Show is underway at the Sioux City Convention Center. There are 167 booths to check out this year, filled with the latest home improvement ideas. Sioux City school board members got their first look at architectural renderings of a proposed new north side grade school. It would use the site of the former Hoover Middle School and replace Clark, Crescent Park, and Lincoln Elementary schools. The school board is considering bid packages that could mean demolition work gets underway in August.
