Trekkies seek out "Vulcan"

William Shatner and thousands of "Star Trek" fans are campaigning to have one of Pluto's. newly discovered moons named "Vulcan".

Scientists had asked for help naming the new moons and Shatner, who played Captain James T Kirk in "Star Trek", thought Vulcan would be Perfect.

Vulcan is the name of Spock's home planet in the science fiction series. Vulcan is among the 21 names in the running in an online poll. As of Thursday Vulcan was well in the lead.
