SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -

Monday night's vote comes after several weeks of hearings and efforts by departments to trim spending for the next fiscal year.

Council members will vote on a spending plan that includes a $45 increase in property taxes for the average homeowner.

There would also be a few positions cut, including a police sergeant and the fire department's public education officer.
