Homes prepped for removal to make way for new school on current Washington Elementary campus.
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -
The school district opened up bidding to tear down Sioux City's Washington Elementary school.
The board voted Monday to take the next step in demolishing the 92 year old school in Morningside.
It's estimated to cost nearly $3.6 million to take down the building, and clear the site.
The board will review bids on March 11th.
Some of the houses near Washington are already being moved to make room for the project.
