SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -

Careless discarding of smoking materials is to blame for a Sioux City house fire.

Flames could be seen coming out of the home when crews arrived at 2619 10th Street on February 16th.

A neighbor called 911 when he noticed the flames.

Fire officials say no one was home at the time.

The home, which was rented out, has been red-tagged.

The family is being helped by the Siouxland Red Cross.
