Former Sioux City Bishop, Daniel DiNardo was at the Vatican for the pope's final meeting with cardinals

Cardinal DiNardo is one of the cardinals that will help choose the next Pope.

The group will meet Monday and eventually, they will set a date for the conclave to elect the next pope.

"Every time the Pope has seen me he says something like 'uh oh, Texas is here.' So what I said to him, 'Today Texas is here, we love you,' and I thanked him especially for his homilies. He just looked at me and said, 'oh, thank you, you're welcome.' Very moving moment with Pope Benedict today," Cardinal Daniel DiNardo, of Galveston-Houston, Texas said.
