SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -
A hands-on interactive, educational environment that will help children and families learn about agriculture and more got a financial boost Thursday.
The Iowa Farm Bureau Federation and Woodbury County Farm Bureau donated $50,000 to the Children's Museum of Siouxland.
Museum officials say Farm Bureau's donation is a great partnership for the museum.
With the funds, they'll build an interactive agriculture exhibit that shows kids the food production cycle.
"We're in the middle of a capital campaign, we've raised $850,000 towards a $4.5 million dollar goal and we hope to begin construction soon," Kari Kellen, the executive director of the Children's Museum of Siouxland said.
Kellen hopes to start construction this summer and be open by the summer of 2014.
The Children's Museum of Siouxland will be located at 623 Pearl Street in Sioux City.
