SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -
St. Luke's Regional Medical Center and Sioux Body Shop, in Sioux City are partnering together to educate parents and child caregivers on car seat safety.
Parents can drop off their expired car seats at Sioux Body Shop at 501 W 8th St., Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. and Saturdays 8 a.m. until 10 a.m.
The seats will be taken apart and recycled.
Officials say car seats should not be used after five years.
They say to stop using your car seat if it has a recall, noticeable sun damage or wear, was involved in an accident, or if its history is unknown.
