Snowfall brings windfall of customers to delivery restaurants

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -
The advice was to stay inside Sunday, leaving many across Siouxland to rely on restaurants to deliver dinner.
From pizza to sub sandwiches. It might not have looked busy on the inside, but the phones were ringing off the hook.
The Jimmy Johns on Hamilton Boulevard in Sioux City said their store was empty throughout the day, but were actually busy with deliveries.
"An average day, maybe we have 6, 7 an hour, on a day like today we might do 12, 13, 14, an hour," Ben Nash, Jimmy John's Manager.
Of course with snowy conditions, Nash says it will take a little longer for some deliveries.
One customer who ordered from work, says she didn't mind waiting for her food because she didn't want to deal with the weather.
"It's snowy outside, it's slick, can't just drive around in a car and go get something...Thought it would be half an hour or 45 minutes but no, they were here real quick," Lexia Deon, a worker at Riviera Theatre said.
Nash also says they lucked out with the snow fall today. He says Sundays are traditionally slow.
