Legislation offering more authority over strip clubs moves forward

Legislation allowing Iowa cities to exercise more authority in strip clubs won support in the statehouse.

Lawmakers approved a bill Monday that would allow cities to pass ordinances prohibiting nudity in establishments in their jurisdiction.

Iowa strip clubs already have limits set by city zoning laws and sales tax rules that bar the sales of alcohol by businesses that allow public nudity.
