Firefighters rescue a deer stranded on an ice floe

Firefighters in northeastern Poland rescued a deer stuck on the ice.

The deer moved too far on the Narew River that was partially frozen. The deer became stuck on an ice floe and was cut off by freezing water. Nine firefighters came to the deer's rescue. The animal was so weak it was relatively easy getting it inside a cage. After getting back to land they took it to a veterinary clinic.
