Le Mars, IA (KTIV) -
A three-month long drug investigation leads to the arrest of 10 people, nine from northwest Iowa.
The Plymouth County Sheriff's Department says 56-year-old Randy Brent of Aurora, Colorado, was bringing marijuana to northwest Iowa.
The drugs were then packaged and resold in the Remsen and Le Mars area.
Following Brent's arrest, a search warrant was issued for several homes in those areas.
Four suspects from Remsen and five from Le Mars were also arrested. They face several charges including possession of marijuana and possession with intent to deliver.
In all authorities seized around two pounds of marijuana, $15,000 and two vehicles that were used to transport the drugs.
"It takes a team effort to do something like this, so obviously it wasn't the Sheriff's Office here... the Le Mars Police, the Kingsley-Remsen Police, Aurora Colorado, and Iowa State Patrol," said Michael VanOtterloo, Plymouth Country Sheriff.
Authorities say the investigation is ongoing and that more arrest are expected.
