John Deere museum pushes back opening to align with TechWorks development

John Deere says it now plans to open its tractor and engine museum in Waterloo in the spring of 2014, which is later than originally planned.  The opening date is being pushed back to align with other developments in the TechWorks campus.

John Deere first announced the new Waterloo museum in May 2010, to be located on Westfield Avenue at the original site of the Waterloo tractor works.  The TechWorks campus at that location has planned major renovation since January last year, with office space, a restaurant and hotel. While announced a year ago, actual progress on the TechWorks renovations has been delayed because of unexpected hurdles, but developers say they are now finalizing details and plan to begin construction soon.

Deere says the new target date for the museum will let them make sure all details inside the building and out will be finished prior to its opening.
