26 8th graders from Siouxland area schools gather for picture at Sioux City Convention Center.
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -
Sometimes we don't get recognized for the hard work we do.
But Thursday, 26 eighth grade girls from 13 Siouxland schools earned honors for all they've accomplished.
Quota International has a 61-year tradition of honoring young women during a luncheon.
Organizers said the awards are for outstanding student achievements based on personal bests and goals.
The eighth graders were nominated by teachers and counselors to encourage them to continue improving.
"These are not our star athletes, not our star singers, they are not our star students, they are hopefully the leaders of the class or showing that they could be the leaders," Cindy Agnes, Quota Club Presidents said.
One hundred twenty-eight people including the nominees, their family, and school representatives attended.
