Growth at Sioux City's Lakeport Commons shopping center may be a reflection of the improving economy. Three national restaurant chains are moving in: Panera, Chipotle and QDoba.The mall's developers say they're also seeing interest from clothing stores for adults and children.

 
The Sioux City city council will decide Monday whether to help pay for a study of a new interchange on Interstate 29 near the South Bridge Industrial Park. Salix and Sergeant Bluff have already agreed to chip in. If Sioux City joins in, the three communities together would pay for one-third of the 400-thousand dollar study. Woodbuy County and the Iowa DOT would also each pay one-third.

26 Siouxland 8th graders honored for outstanding personal achievements

26 8th grade girls from 13 Siouxland schools are honored for their accomplishments. Quota International has a 61-year tradition of honoring young women for outstanding student achievements based on personal bests and goals. These girls were nominated by teachers and counselors as a way to encourage them to keep improving.
