SOUTH SIOUX CITY, Neb (KTIV) -
With spring right around the corner, boaters now have another place to dock in Siouxland.
The Scenic Park public boat ramp has been closed since the Missouri River flooded in 2011.
Parks Director, Gene Maffit, says said before the docks could be put in, eight feet of sand had to be removed.
Now that is done, the docks were put into place Friday.
But, Maffit says some landscaping still needs to be finished before the project is complete.
That doesn't matter to fishermen, several boats docked into the river Friday afternoon.
"With the mouth of this, it's a little narrow right now, but as the water goes up and down, it will, of course, change too," said Maffit.
FEMA dollars helped pay for the repairs, which was around $300,000.
