SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -
Despite the chilly weather, people lined the streets of downtown Sioux City for the St. Patrick's Day parade
Green covered the sidewalks as the parade made its way through downtown.
City Councilwoman Rhonda Capron led the way as the parade marshal this year, followed by several leprechauns and their lucky charms.
Festive floats threw handfuls of candy and beads to both kids and adults.
Many of those attending the parade sported their green, but some did more than others.
"[It's] getting everybody out and about, and of course the kids are all out and they're enjoyin' it...and you can't beat it," said Patrick Prorok.
After the parade, much of the crowd gathered in different establishments along Fourth Street to continue their celebration and, to most importantly, stay warm.
