March 17-23 is National Agriculture Week

This week is National Agriculture Week.  It's a week to spotlight the importance of ag across the country and increase everyone's awareness of the vital role it plays in our society.

According to the Nebraska Department of Agriculture, farming, ranching, and related agribusiness activities make up about a quarter of the state economic activity and 93 percent of the state's land is used for ag production.  Nebraska is also one of the top states in the nation for international agriculture exports.

To celebrate the week in Nebraska, the ag department has a new magazine out, called "Nebraska Agriculture and You."  The magazine is free and is available to the public.  You can also check it out on Nebraska's Department of Agriculture website.
