NORFOLK, NE (US92) - A proposal to build a new pharmacy in Norfolk, Nebraska will be back on the agenda for the Norfolk City Council during their meeting Monday night.
The proposal was tabled earlier this month so department of roads officials could further review the plan.
The proposal calls for building a new CVS Pharmacy at the southwest corner of Norfolk Avenue and Highway 81, one of the busiest intersections in town and right across the street from a Walgreens Pharmacy.
A public hearing on the proposal began earlier this month, but was continued so further planning could take place.
The original plan called for a total of 11 homes to be removed to make way for the business and changing the zoning from residential to commercial.
The newest revised plan will allow one of those homes at the southeast corner of the plot to remain.
It also allows a couple of other residential lots to remain.
Following the completion of the public hearing on the pharmacy proposal, the council will then vote on an ordinance that would change the zoning and allow the plans to move forward.
The Norfolk City Council will meet Monday night at 5:30.
