Ashley Eide and SDSU are in the tourney for the fifth straight year.
Brookings, SD (KTIV) -
Like the men's team, the South Dakota State women punched their ticket to the NCAA Tournament by claiming the Summit League Championship.
The Jackrabbits earned a 13 seed, and will play South Carolina in the first round on Saturday.
It's the program fifth consecutive NCAA Tournament.
The Gamecocks advanced to the Sweet 16 last season. SDSU was1-4 against tournament teams this year.
The game is in Boulder, Colorado and the team is excited about it being at a neutral site.
"Just how easy it is to be able to get there," Senior Ashley Eide said. I Think that will be good for a lot of our fans thinking about making a trip out there. Hopefully we'll get some out there."
"Playing against South Carolina is not easy but it's a much better feel to be more of a neutral site, plus we got a lot of SDSU alums and grads," SDSU Head Coach Aaron Johnston said. "We'll have quite a few blue and yellow in the stands so that'll be exciting."
The game tips off at 2:00 on Saturday.
