LE MARS, Iowa (KTIV) -
One group wants to connect Sioux City to LeMars with a trail system.
At an open house for the Floyd River Valley Trail study, people got to ask questions about three potential routes for biking or hiking.
The Siouxland Regional Transportation Planning Association says two possible routes follow county roads on either side of Highway 75.
They're already being used by some, but need signage because of safety concerns.
Putting 132 signs on those trails would cost more than $17,000.
Another option, a 26-mile trail along highway 75.
"There's been a lot more interest in these regional type bike trails or walking trails. People might not necessary be walking the entire portion, but maybe walking in-between communities or maybe just a little part and then turn around and walk back," said Kellee Van Bruggen, Transportation Planner.
The next step is to form a trail association.
