Funeral services have been scheduled in Estherville, IA for Army Sgt. Blass

ESTHERVILLE, Iowa (KTIV) -

Funeral services have been scheduled in Estherville, Iowa for Army Sergeant Steven Blass, the hometown soldier who died in the crash of a helicopter last week in Afghanistan.

Visitation will be held next Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Estherville High School Gym.

The funeral will be held the following afternoon at 2:00, also in the high school gym.

Blass was 27-years-old.

He is one of five soldiers who died when their Blackhawk helicopter went down outside Kandahar City on March 11th.

Blass is being remembered by those who knew him as a respectful, loving, thoughtful, patriotic and funny young man.

He's survived by his wife Tricia and their 16-month old son, Hayden.
