A Siouxland business opened its doors to the public today as it gets ready to expand.
The Nucor Detailing Center in Norfolk held an open house Thursday afternoon.
Company officials say they are planning to expand this spring. Part of that expansion includes a brand new internship program. Nucor officials gave tours of their facility and gave potential new employees the opportunity to apply in person.
Company officials say today's open house allows them to expand without outsourcing jobs overseas. Doyle Hopper, Nucor General Manager, says "We're bringing more and more and more of them into here. We don't want to offshore them. We have the people right here in this community to do what we need to do."
Company officials say they don't have a set number of new jobs in mind that they plan to add, but that they want bring in as many qualified people as possible.
