Fire destroys an office near Salix, IA

NEAR SALIX, Iowa (KTIV) -

Salix Fire Chief Justin Iverson says they were called to 2570 Barnett Avenue near Salix a little after midnight.

Once they got on scene, he says the main office for J and G Pallets was fully engulfed in flames.

Crews called for mutual aide from Sergeant Bluff and Sloan Volunteer Fire Departments and the 185th Air Refueling Wing Fire Department also supplied a tanker with water to help fight the fire.

He says no one was injured and they do not know the cause but the building is a total loss.

The Fire Marshal from Denison will be on scene Friday to investigate the fire.
