Iowa's Tony Ramos (133 lbs) and Derek St. John (157 lbs.) each advanced to the NCAA Wrestling Championships Saturday at the Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa.
Ramos defeated Jonathon Morrison of Oklahoma State in the quarterfinals with a 6-1 decision. He then topped Wisconsin's Tyler Graff 6-4 in sudden victory to advance to the finals for the first time in his career.
He'll face top seeded Logan Stieber of Ohio State in the finals.
St. John defeated Josh Demas of Ohio State 4-0 and then defeated Oklahoma State's Alex Dieringer 3-2.
St. John is back is the finals for the second straight year and will face Northwestern's top-seed Jason Welch, who he has defeated five times in his career.
125 pounder senior Matt McDonough's quest for a third straight title came to an end after falling to Nahshon Garrett of Cornell, 4-2 in sudden victory. He later lost in the round of 12 in consolations.
