King says senate run decision will be based on his head and his heart
Western Iowa Congressman Steve King is still leaving the door open for a potential Senate bid.
Though his gut's telling him to run for Senator Tom Harkin's seat, the Republican says it's a decision he'll make with his head and his heart.
"The needle is over 50%, and it's held fairly steady over the last two to three weeks because I reached that point where I just need information. So, once that information comes in I think it will speed up the decision making process," King explained.
Along with Lieutenant Governor Kim Reynolds, King said Ag Secretary Bill Northey is also contemplating a run. He said the three Republicans plan to meet in the near future.
Either way, King says he hopes to be on the ballot for one the Congressional chambers in 2014.
