Here's a real show stopper. Somebody stole a Siouxland school's show choir gear while they were taking a trip to California.

Teachers at Westwood Community Schools, in Sloan, Iowa, say it happened in L.A., Saturday night.

The thief made off with the pickup truck and trailer carrying a drum set, guitars, sound equipment and clothes. The loss is estimated in the 10's of thousands of dollars.

The kids had just used the gear to perform in a competition.

"I thought, I am really glad we performed before it was stolen, actually," said Westwood Vocal Instructor Tom Gerking.

Gerking says no one was hurt, and a police report has been filed on the theft.

He says folks in their group actually saw the truck being stolen, but didn't realize it.

"They were eating and they saw the truck drive by. They assumed that it was the driver and his wife going somewhere to eat," said Gerking.

The show choir is returning home Monday night.

Gerking says they had one more performance at their school in coming weeks. He says he's committed to doing it, even if kids have to perform in jeans and t-shirts.
