SSC leaders head to Lincoln, NE to meet with governor, state lawmakers
South Sioux City leaders left for the state capitol before 6:30 a.m. Monday.
SOUTH SIOUX CITY, NE (KTIV) -
If city leaders in South Sioux City, Nebraska, seemed a little tired Monday evening, you could hardly blame them.
Several of them left early in the morning to head for the state capitol to lobby lawmakers, and meet with Governor Dave Heineman.
Then, they came back in time for their regular weekly council meeting. Council member Stephanie Dahl says she got a chance to share concerns with the governor and lawmakers, and map out priorities for this legislative session. It was a day that Dahl says she won't forget.
"It was very educating, I just can't emphasize that enough. I learned so much," said Stephanie Dahl, a first year member of the South Sioux City city council.
Dahl was joined by South Sioux City administrator Lance Hedquist and Mayor Bill McLarty.
